Halloween Help Wanted

Events committee has big plans for a scary night

Got a few hours extra time on your hands? The Lions Bay Events Committee wants your help to make this the spookiest Halloween night ever.

The team is putting a series of Halloween Haunted Houses together at the Beach Park, just in time for the big night, and Events Committee volunteer Christina Lee says they still need a handful of enthusiastic volunteers to ensure a "frightfully fun event".

"We need people to act as creepy characters, as well as to help set up on Saturday morning and take-down on Sunday," she says. The team welcomes anyone willing to help, including teens who may need volunteer hours for school.

Events will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday night, with circus ghouls for added entertainment, and hot drinks available for everyone. Lee says the haunted house is aimed at all ages, but adds "if you aren't brave enough you can still enjoy the decorations."

Lions Bay Fire Rescue will oversee a beach bonfire and fireworks, which will begin after dark (likely around 8:30 p.m.)

"We'd really like to make this an unforgettable Halloween for everyone," Lee says.
