Our power, our planet

What you do matters.
The daily actions of communities, educators, workers, and families helps sustain and give momentum to environmental progress, according to the organizers of Earth Day.
The international celebration of this planet and its fragile environment has taken place every April 22 since 1970. This year, organizers chose the theme 'Our Power, Our Planet' to remind people that environmental progress doesn’t depend on any single administration or election, but on the choices and actions of people around the globe, every day.
How can your family make a difference?
EarthDay.Ca has a whole variety of easy-to-implement suggestions that can make caring for the planet a habit worth keeping.
Eating food grown locally and in season, trying more plant-based proteins, and working to reduce food waste are just some of the options to make a change. The site also includes suggestions for saving energy, reducing the material you use that ends up in the landfill and finding more sustainable transportation solutions.
