Permanent closure slated as of April 7

In a piece of correspondence delivered so late it didn't appear on the evening's Committee of the Whole meeting agenda, Council addressed information received today indicating the Lions Bay Canada Post outlet will be closing permanently.
The date provided for the closure is April 7, however the outlet, along with the rest of Lions Bay Store and Cafe is currently closed for the filming of a Netflix movie.
The store and cafe are expected to re-open sometime after the end of the movie shoot. Production is slated to end on April 5.
After discussion, members of Council concluded that mail and small parcel delivery will continue to be delivered to boxes as usual, but large parcel pick-up (currently being redirected to a postal outlet in Squamish) and other postal services will no longer be available.
The Watershed will continue to cover this developing story.

Ok. So this is upsetting news for a few reasons. I've lived in Lions by since 2008. My first interaction with the community was going to the store to get directions how to find the address to the suite I was looking to rent. Vaughn greeted me and gave me clear directions. Since then I have appreciated the store for providing mail and parcel delivery along with the corner store feel when I ran out of cream, appetizers or grabbing snacks for a hike, not to mention stopping by the cafe on way to work to get a coffee, ham and cheese buns, remember those delicious marvels...or the morning glory muffin, this all with a pleasant experience every time, Hi…
Considering how hostile the current owners are to the residents, I hope this puts them out of business.
Canada Post strike if Nov 17 through mid December last year was suspended, not resolved. Negotiations have not been settled. Talks have resumed and we could see another strike as workers are without a new contract. Our issue as a community is with Canada Post.
Sadly, this is not an April Fool's joke. More details to come.
I have regularly heard complaints from the current operator of the store concerning the Postal Service. It seems that she found it to be too inconvenient and not generating enough profit to satisfy her. Now the village appears to be paying the price for her dissatisfaction.
I assume it’s only a matter of time until there’s a new operator of the store. We can only keep our fingers crossed that the next operator will see that the post office generates foot traffic into the store, and will seek to reestablish the Postal Service as we have known it.
