Evacuation Plan Meeting this Weekend

Mountain, Sunset, Timbertop residents get first look at new plan

How do you get out, if the worst is happening? Do you have a plan?

Mary Brown does.

Since taking on the position of Emergency Planning Coordinator (EPC) in the summer of 2025, Brown has sought and secured funding for an Evacuation Planning expert, who has generated a new plan to help Lions Bay residents address any number of potential emergencies from wildfires to earthquakes.

And this week, if you are a resident of Mountain, Sunset or Timbertop Drive, you are invited to a meeting on Sunday May 31 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Village Hall to have a look at the new evacuation plans for the Village, with a special focus on the neighbourhood streets found above Bayview Road.

Don't live on Mountain Sunset or Timbertop? Reach out to Brown, and she will organize a meeting for your neighbourhood, too. Plus, she is planning a Village-wide event in June. You can email her at mbrown@lionsbay.ca

The Watershed will attend her talk on Sunday and run a piece next week with all the details.

When the worst happens (and we hope it doesn't), Lions Bay residents are in it together!
