Kindergarten Parent Meeting Upcoming

West Vancouver School District welcomes new parents

Do you have a child attending kindergarten next year?

If so, West Vancouver School District wants to chat with you.

Parents and guardians of children born in 2022 are invited to attend a meeting at the Kay Meek Theatre in West Vancouver to learn about the registration process, and what to expect for children entering this school district.

Lions Bay School Vice Principal Jennifer Ohlhauser says she hopes parents of four-year-olds make the time to attend this event.

"The transition from early childhood to the school years is a great opportunity to make more and new connections in our community," she says. "This event allows families to hear about the vision of Kindergarten in all of our West Vancouver Schools, Lions Bay included, and to connect further with community resources."

Olhauser's pride in the school and its students is evident. "It’s a wonderful school for Kindergarten to Grade 3. The small class sizes means every student is known, belongs and moves forward as a learner. In addition to who they are in their family, are they an athlete? A scientist? A good friend? A connector? A questioner? A musician? And so much more."

Earlier this year, parent and PAC Chair Danielle Mah also shared her thoughts about Lions Bay School and the "power of small" HERE.

For parents unable to attend Thursday's meeting, Ohlhauser does say she expects there will be other opportunities later in the school year.
