Lining Up the Roads

Village byways get a much-needed spruce up

Freshly painted lines down Bayview Road.

A much-needed summertime spruce-up has begun in the village, which includes repainting road lines, among other improvements.

Public Works Director of Operations Karl Buhr notes that the village will be "renewing road markings and signage, adding intersection features as recommended by ICBC, and partially bringing our three railroad crossings to Transport Canada requirements as amended by Council."

Residents along parts of Bayview Road will note the new addition of white "fog lines" along the ditch housing the creek lining the roadway. Buhr says that the addition of the lines helps to delineate the ditches that have been paved flush to offer slightly more road width, as specified by the BC Manual of Standard Traffic Signs & Pavement Markings.

The work is scheduled to be completed in August, weather and contractor-availability permitting.
