Have a passion for the natural beauty, incredible biodiversity, rich cultural heritage, and a sustainable economy in the place you live? Like eating lunch? Local resident Ruth Simons has the perfect combo for you.

Along with Tourism Squamish, the Howe Sound Biosphere Region Initiative Society is hosting a 'Lunch & Learn' event at the Squamish Adventure Centre on Friday November 7 from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Simons, Executive Director of the Howe Sound Biosphere Region Initiative Society, says attendees will gain insight into the unique ecological and cultural significance of these protected biospheres, as well as an understanding of the importance of preserving our natural heritage for future generations.

"It's a chance to meet some of the people who helped earn the Átl’ḵa7tsem / Howe Sound watershed a UNESCO designation, including film maker Bob Turner," says Simons.

"Don't miss this opportunity to learn and connect with fellow nature enthusiasts."

Tickets are free and you can choose to either bring your own lunch, or order ahead from the on-site Garibaldi Cafe. A link will be sent with your registration.

Registration is mandatory in order to attend and is available, along with more information, HERE.
