Surprise announcement this morning

Former mayor Ron McLaughlin announced plans this morning to run for the open Council seat in the upcoming by-election.
The Watershed received the following press release from McLaughlin's team:
Ron McLaughlin announces candidacy for Lions Bay Councilor in upcoming June 21st byelection. The Village of Lions Bay is among the 22 by-elections in British Columbia since January 2025.
It is the second for the Village of Lions Bay this term.
