Lions Bay Council candidates are preparing for the final two weeks of campaigning with Election Day arriving on October 17.

Before that, however, the group will have a chance to face each other in person at this Sunday's All Candidates meeting. The event will be held at Lions Bay Community School (250 Bayview Road) on Sunday, October 4 from 1 to 3 p.m.

According to a statement released in a special Village Update earlier this week, the event will be a moderated Q & A format with no open-mic component.

Instead, residents are encouraged to send their questions to cao@lionsbay.ca.

Chief Administrative Officer Ross Blackwell, who has also taken on the role of Chief Election Officer, says that an independent facilitator from outside the Village will moderate the event, and present the questions to candidates. The questions will not be provided to candidates prior to the event.

"We're reminding all attendees that this event is to share information, and are looking to maintain decorum throughout."

Early voting for the municipal election will take place on October 7 at the Village Hall. Election day voting will take place at the Village Hall, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. both days.

The Watershed contacted all the current candidates running in the upcoming Municipal Election to give them the opportunity to answer a few questions. Their responses can be found by following the links below. Responses from School Trustee candidates will run on Saturday.
