All the details you need to know

Saturday may be Municipal Election Day, but it also marks just one week until the official Provincial election day.

And if you are feeling keen, you can cast your advance vote in the provincial election on Friday, before fulfilling your civic duty on the following day.

Confused? Never fear. Here's how it all breaks down for Lions Bay residents, by date, event and location.

All voting locations are open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., regardless of venue.

October 16: Provincial election advance poll Gleneagles Clubhouse, West Van

October 17: Municipal election day Village Hall, Lions Bay

October 18-20: Provincial election advance poll Gleneagles Clubhouse, West Van

October 24: Provincial election day Village Hall, Lions Bay

Gleneagles Clubhouse is at 6190 Marine Drive in West Vancouver.

Lions Bay Village Hall is at 400 Centre Street in Lions Bay.

On Provincial Election day, there are 14 different venues to choose from within the West Vancouver — Sea to Sky riding, and nearly 1,200 separate polling locations that will be open across the province, all which are wheelchair-accessible.

In general, the province will assign residents to a voting place within their riding, but you are free to vote at any of these polling locations across the province should it be more convenient.

Eligible voters must be:

  • a Canadian citizen

  • 18 or older

  • a B.C. resident for the past six months

If you want to mail in your vote, you can still request a package online HERE, or you can pick one up at the district electoral office, which for residents of the West Vancouver-Sea to Sky riding is at 3200 University Blvd in Squamish.

For in-person voting, you must bring proof of identity and address with government-issued ID. You must be registered to vote in BC, which can be completed in person on the day of voting if you have not done so already.

In the West Vancouver — Sea to Sky riding, incumbent Jeremy Valeriote is running to retain his seat in the legislature, representing the BC Green Party.

His opponents include Michelle Livaja with BC NDP, Ayla Dumais of the Conservative Party of British Columbia and Dan Wood for CentreBC.

Click each candidate's name to go to their party site. Watershed interviews with the candidates will run beginning October 19.
