It's election season, and this year in BC there's double your pleasure, with overlapping municipal and provincial campaigns.

Lions Bay Chief Electoral Officer Ross Blackwell reports that more than 40% of eligible voters in the Village have already cast their ballots at the polls on early election day, October 7.

With Municipal Election Day set for October 17, The Watershed has reached out to all the candidates running for mayoral, councillor and school trustee positions in Lions Bay. You can read the answers to the questions we put to them by clicking the candidate's names below:

Mayoral Candidates:  Michael Broughton  Ron McLaughlin

Now it's the provincial candidates' turn.

Incumbent Jeremy Valeriote is running to retain his seat in the legislature, representing the BC Green Party.

His opponents include Michelle Livaja with BC NDP, Ayla Dumais of the Conservative Party of British Columbia and Dan Wood for CentreBC.

We will be providing the candidates with your questions prior to the October 28 provincial election day.

You can email us at editor@lionsbaywatershed.ca or leave your question in the comment section below. We'll make sure to include any questions received by midnight Sunday, October 11.
