Woo-HOO...It's the Long Weekend!

Sun in the forecast, all three Village beaches open and Happy Pride!

ree

What are your plans for the BC Day long weekend?

Environment Canada is predicting sunshine all the way through Monday, with the warmest day expected to be on Sunday, and a high of 27 degrees near the water anticipated in Lions Bay.

According to Vancouver Coastal Health, E coli testing results for all three beaches in the Village are well within the safe swimming range.

Planning to set your towel on the sand somewhere outside Lions Bay this weekend?

Take note that Third Beach at Stanley Park and Trout Lake in East Vancouver both continue to face swimming restrictions over the long weekend, and while Ambleside Beach in West Van is not closed, swimmers should bear in mind that the E coli numbers remain higher than normal.

Not a beach person? Check out some other choices for the weekend:

PRIDE 2025: Vancouver Pride Events run all weekend, beginning August 1, and the famous Vancouver Pride Parade running on August 3. Route map is HERE.

Squamish Days Logger's Sports Festival: Runs all weekend in Squamish, with logging shows on Saturday and Sunday, plus Bed Races, Parade Pancake Breakfast, and a Kids Festival.

Farmers Markets: At Riley Park and Trout Lake in Vancouver and Downtown Squamish on Saturday, and Ambleside Park on Sunday.

And don't forget Tio Chorinho and Art Vancouver's Lions Bay concert this Sunday.

Enjoy the sun!

So grateful to be back in Lions Bay. After spending 3 weeks in Europe, with crazy drivers, excessive heat, lack of parking and pay-to-use beaches, it's wonderful to park near our free beach, arrive unstressed to enjoy swimming in the sea and lounging in the sun on the sand! 😀
