RCMP deem Lions Bay house and vehicle fires related and suspicious, looking for witnesses.

Sea to Sky RCMP are linking the fires at a home in Lions Bay and a car on the Sea to Sky Highway in the pre-dawn hours of Sunday morning.

In a statement earlier today, police said the RCMP (Squamish Detachment) were called just after 4 a.m. on July 19 to attend a fully-engulfed house fire on Kelvin Grove Way.

Shortly afterwards, the police were notified of a vehicle on fire at Ocean Point Drive. There were no reported injuries.

"The fires are believed to be related and are considered suspicious at this time," the statement said.

The Sea to Sky RCMP General Investigation Section is working with Lions Bay Fire Rescue and the BC Office of the Fire Commissioner to investigate the cause of the fires.

RCMP are asking for the public's assistance, seeking any information, including video or dash-cam footage, related to either the house or vehicle fire. They are asking all information be directed to the Sea to Sky RCMP General Investigation Section at (604) 892-6100
