Busy autumn ahead

British Columbians are facing a decision-filled autumn with both local and provincial elections in October.

In Lions Bay, there are 10 candidates vying for positions on Council, plus seven candidates running for school trustee positions in the West Vancouver School District.

All the Council candidates are Lions Bay residents, however there are no local residents in the running for school district positions.

The Watershed has reached out with questions to all 17 candidates, and starting Monday, will run two articles each day so that all the information can be in readers' hands before the early voting day.

All-Candidates Meeting: Lions Bay School Sunday, October 4

Early Voting Day: Village Hall Wednesday, October 7

Municipal Voting Day: Village Hall Saturday, October 17

Mail-In Ballots

If you will not be in town to vote, you can apply for a mail-in ballot HERE. at the Village of Lions Bay 2026 Municipal Election page. Applications are already being accepted, and you can opt to collect your ballot ahead of time from the Village office or have it mailed to you.

The Watershed will also be covering the provincial election, including profiles of candidates, after the nomination period closes on October 3.
