Village Welcomes & Updates

Babies, New Grands and a Lions Bay Welcome

Chef Daniel

I am delighted to advise you of some new family additions. Grandparents (and Block Watch captains) Colleen and Jim Dickinson, long time Panorama residents say their first grandchild is the apple-of-their-eyes. Diana Dickinson and Sean Blancard are happy to introduce their son Daniel James Blancard, an addition to their culinary team of two. Diana is a Registered Dietician at B.C. Children’s Hospital. Sean is a chef. With mom’s and dad’s backgrounds now known, the picture makes a lot more sense. Daniel is five months old, is happy and healthy, and has just learned to roll over.

Thomas, Shawna, Olivia and Hannah

As noted last summer, Shawna Driscoll, the Village’s Administrative Assistant and longest serving current office employee, left on her maternity leave. In September, she, husband Thomas, and very excited big sister Hannah welcomed the arrival of Olivia Maree, who weighed in at 7 lb 5 oz.  I think the picture indicates everything is going smoothly for the family. Shawna tells me that Hanna “took” her sister out trick or treating last week for the first time.

Wei family

Once again, I am honoured to introduce new residents to our community. New to Upper Bayview Road are David Wei and Veronica Wu. They moved here in mid-October from Downtown Vancouver. Originally from China, they lived in Singapore for 10 years before moving to Canada in 2005. They both work in the engineering field; Veronica is a cost estimator, while David specializes in construction planning and scheduling. Their daughter Sabrina is currently in first year of family medicine residency in Vancouver. Their son Simon works as an Equity Derivative Broker in New York City. They are an active family and love outdoor activities like hiking, jogging, biking, and skiing. They are also passionate about cooking and gardening. David tells me that Lion’s Bay has always held a special place in their hearts. During their first hike in the area, they fell in love with the environment and the community. Now their dream of moving to Lion’s Bay has come true, and they are eagerly looking forward to becoming a part of this wonderful community. Wei family – welcome to Lions Bay.
